EXPLORING LINE

I have been exploring line and colour using different kinds of markers and slick papers.  I was using repetition as an element of design,  and using sakura gel pen, I would hold a number of pens in my hand at the same time, and draw lines and patterns that are repeated by each pen.
Sometimes I would just play with the lines and emphasize some more than others.  An energy would often emerge that has a rhythm and balance.

I could also use a colour dominance and really focus on the lines, and shapes.

Taking this a step further, I pushed this piece to more than one layer, adding colours, and some calligraphic marks in white on top.

/with these three pieces, the emphasis was on playing with colour and line - focussing on line, shape and colour.  They are closer to completed paintings.
